| Somewhere in my mid-twenties I discovered an affinity for dancing, brought on by the dances/raves staged at anime conventions. There'd been such dances during highschool of course, but I was way too introverted back then to consider cutting loose on the dance floor. Surely the concept of dancing while in costume must've helped break through my inhibitions. |   | Since then, dances at cons have always been among my most personally anticipated events. The later introduction of cosplay balls made me jubilant beyond description. The formal, courting environment is a delectable contrast to the raw energy of typical raves. |   | Although Michael Jackson is my main dancing inspiration, I like to delve into and adapt to any form of dancing, from ballroom to interpretive. In 2007 I auditioned for a silent stage role (that was subsequently sadly written out of the play) that called for emotive acting, expressed entirely through dancing. I've scarcely ever felt more in my element than on that stage, filling that role. |
